Michael Hammer and John Cummings

The 2006 Muscle Car 1000 was not only Michael's first running, but it was also the first running of the very low mileage, original 427. Along with co-driver is John Cummings, Michael set the pace on many stretches of the tour. He also attracted a little "heat" between Sears Point and Napa, but fortunately, he was able to schmooze his way out of a ticket. By the time we reached Santa Barbara he was joined by his wife Dru of 22 years. As for the 427, it served flawlessly and took home the honor of "People's Choice". As you can see, it was also a favortie of our camera man, Jason Niedle.
