1967 was the last year that Shelby built his cars in his California factory; as Ford took over production the following year and moved production to Michigan. This makes this 1967 Shelby GT500 highly collectible. In 1967 Carroll Shelby wanted his new muscle car to have a name attached to it that was "just bigger than anything else out there" and so the new car came to be the GT500. Powered by a 428 cubic inch "police interceptor", conservatively rated at 355 horsepower with real output in excess of 400 horsepower, these cars were all muscle. This example in particular is very well equipped with its original 428 dual quad motor, 4 speed manual transmission, power steering, power brakes, Stuart Warner gauges, comfort weave bucket seats, factory 5 spoke Kelsey Hays wheels, wood rimmed steering wheel, functional factory roll bar finished in its original color of Wimbledon White with blue stripes.
